Special Programs for Mental Health Awareness Month in May

From MediaRites and Dmae Lo Roberts, Producer of the Peabody Award-winning Crossing East, comes Speaking Our Truths: The –Ism Youth Files, Mental health and wellness of BIPOC youth and youth with disabilities

Two 59 minute and five 29 minute standalone special programs (Air any or all of the programs.)

From, executive producer Dmae Lo Roberts, producer of the Award-winning Crossing East, and the multimedia nonprofit MediaRites,comes a special docu-series of two one-hour and five half-hour standalone programs about mental health and wellness, centering on BIPOC youth and youth with disabilities led by in Portland, Oregon.

The project is a culmination of interviews from 20 youth artists and writers who submitted work and were chosen to be a part of “The -Ism Youth Files.” Youth describe the trials they have overcome, including a global pandemic, return to school and continuing struggles that have impacted their mental health and wellness

The programs are appropriate for ages 14 and up. A content warning begins each episode.
